Friend’s Annual Report
January 2019
Dear FERL Members,
We’ve had another busy year at the beautiful East Roswell Library with a record number of patrons visiting to check out materials, attend programs and meetings, and even vote in the 2016 election. Thanks to the financial and volunteer support from you, our Friends, we have successfully sponsored children and adult activities, added new books to the shelves and supported our wonderful library staff. Thanks for all you do!
This Year’s Fact and Figures:
- 64,320 patrons came through the doors at the East Roswell Library in 2016— that’s more than the total population of the City of Alpharetta, Dunwoody or Marietta! Our library has become an established community center, offering myriad resources for East Roswell’s diverse constituencies.
- Our patrons checked out more than 166,500 items (books, cd’s, dvd’s) in 2016.
- Did you notice the “run” on books in our Children and Teen Sections this summer? Again, more than 850 children participated in the library’s Summer Reading program.
- 7,367 adults and youth attended programs at the library during the past year. SAT workshops, Business Development classes, Yoga and Gardening workshops, Practice reading to therapy dogs, Diabetes Education, Lego Play, Kids in the Kitchen and Reading Magic are just a few of the programs offered at the library this year. FERL funding sponsored many of those programs.
Our FERL Annual Book Sale is just around the corner! Thurs., Feb. 23 is Members Only Night. You’ll want to renew your FERL membership to get admission for the best selection of bargain books. The sale opens to the public Fri. – Sun., Feb 24-26. We’ll be setting up shop at the Centennial Village Shopping Center across the street from the library. Won’t you join us?
